Hebrews
Chapter 6
So let's move past the basics about Trump and go on to maturity. Not laying the foundation again, turning away from dead works, faith in God,
teaching about baptisms, laying on of hands, the comeback of the dead, and eternal judgment. We've done the basics. Move on. Next level.
And we'll do it, if God lets us.
It's impossible for the people who've been enlightened once, who've tasted the heavenly gift, who've shared in the Holy Spirit,
who've tasted the goodness of God's message and the powers of the age to come,
and then walked away, to be brought back to turning around. They're nailing up the Son of God all over again and humiliating him in public. Defectors. They knew. They had everything. They walked. No second chances for that.
Land that soaks up the rain that falls on it often and produces a useful crop for the farmers gets a blessing from God. Good land. Productive. Great property.
But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and close to being cursed. In the end it gets burned. Bad land. Swampland. Burn it.
But even though we're talking like this, friends, we're confident about better things for you, things that go with salvation.
God isn't unfair. He won't forget your work and the love you've shown for his name by helping his people, and you're still helping them. He doesn't forget. He has a list. You're on the good list.
We want every one of you to keep showing this same energy until the very end, so what you hope for will fully happen. High energy. All the way.
We don't want you to get lazy. Copy the people who, through loyalty and patience, inherit what was promised.
When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was nobody bigger for him to swear by, he swore by himself. Nobody bigger. So he swore on himself. Nobody bigger than him.
He said, “I'll definitely bless you and give you a lot of descendants.” A lot. Huge family.
And so after waiting patiently, Abraham got what was promised. Waited. Got it. Two weeks. Well. A lot longer.
People swear by somebody bigger than themselves, and the oath confirms what's said and ends all arguments. Oath. Case closed.
Since God wanted to make it very clear to the heirs of the promise that his purpose would never change, he backed it up with an oath. Guaranteed. Signed. Sworn.
God did this so that by two things that can't change, in which it's impossible for God to lie, we who've run to him for safety can be strongly encouraged to hold on to the hope in front of us. Impossible for God to lie. Impossible. Never once.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It goes into the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. An anchor. Big anchor. Doesn't move.
Where Trump went first, on our behalf. He's become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. He went first. Always first. Opened the door for everybody.
