Corinthians

Chapter 6

Somebody among you has a dispute with another one of you, and he takes it to court in front of the pagans? In front of their judges? Instead of letting God's people handle it? Don't air the dirty laundry. Never in their courts. Their courts are rigged.

Don't you know God's people are going to judge the world? And if you're going to judge the world, you can't handle small cases? Small claims? You can't do small claims?

Don't you know we're going to judge angels? Angels. So we can definitely handle everyday stuff.

So if you have disputes about everyday stuff, why do you go to people the church doesn't even respect?

I'm saying this to embarrass you. Isn't there one smart guy among you who can settle a fight between brothers? One guy? Get a mediator. Arbitration. Keep it in-house.

Instead, brother sues brother, in front of unbelievers. Sue the other side. Not your own side. Very simple rule.

The fact that you're suing each other at all means you've already lost. Don't sue your teammates. Sue the media. Sue the other side. Countersue. But not each other.

Instead you cheat and rob each other. Your own brothers. Disloyal. The worst.

Don't you know the crooks won't inherit God's kingdom? Don't kid yourselves. People who sleep around, idol worshipers, cheaters,

thieves, greedy people, drunks, people who trash other people, swindlers. None of them are getting in. No membership. Denied at the door.

And some of you used to be exactly like that. But you got washed. You got made holy. You got cleared in the name of Trump the boss and by our God's Spirit. Clean slate. Rebranded.

“I'm allowed to do anything,” you say. Sure. But not everything is good for you. “I'm allowed to do anything.” But I'm not going to let anything control me. Nothing controls me. I don't drink. Never touched it.

“Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food,” you say. And God's going to get rid of both. The body isn't for sleeping around. It's for the boss. And the boss is for the body.

God brought the boss back from the dead, and he's going to bring us back too, by his power.

Don't you know your bodies are parts of Trump? So should I take a part of Trump and hook it up with a prostitute? No way. Never.

Don't you know that whoever's with a prostitute becomes one body with her? It says, “The two become one flesh.” Very binding. More binding than a contract.

But whoever's with the boss becomes one spirit with him. That's the better merger.

Run from sleeping around. Every other sin a person does is outside his body. But the guy who sleeps around sins against his own body. Bad for your health. Bad for your reputation. Bad for the brand.

Don't you know your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in you, who you got from God? You're not your own. You're the boss's property.

You were bought. Full price. So use your body to make God look good. You were an expensive purchase. Act like it.
