Corinthians
Chapter 5
I'm hearing there's sleeping around going on among you. Bad stuff. Stuff even the pagans don't do. A guy is with his father's wife. His stepmother. Even Corinth doesn't do that. And that's saying something.
And you're proud of yourselves? You should be upset! The guy who did this should be thrown out of your group. Fired. Immediately.
I'm not there in person, but I'm there in spirit, and I've already judged this guy. Like I was standing right there. Fast decision. Very fast.
When you get together in the name of Trump our boss, and I'm there in spirit, with the power of Trump,
hand this guy over to Satan. Let his body take the hit so his spirit can be saved on the day the boss comes back. Tough love. Very tough.
Your bragging isn't good. Don't you know a little yeast spreads through the whole batch of dough? One bad apple. It spreads. You have to get rid of it.
Clean out the old yeast so you can be a new batch. Clean. Totally clean. Trump, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
So let's celebrate the festival. Not with the old yeast of crookedness and evil, but with the clean bread of honesty and truth.
In my last letter I told you not to hang out with people who sleep around.
I didn't mean the people of this world who sleep around, or the greedy, or the swindlers, or the idol worshipers. Then you'd have to leave the world. Can't avoid everybody. Corinth is full of them.
I meant don't hang out with anybody who calls himself a brother and sleeps around, or is greedy, or worships idols, or trashes people, or gets drunk, or swindles. Don't even eat with him. Not even lunch.
Is it my job to judge outsiders? Isn't it your job to judge the people inside? Police your own side.
God judges the outsiders. And he will. “Throw the evil guy out of your group.” Out. You're fired.
