Corinthians

Chapter 10

I don't want you to forget, brothers, that our ancestors were all under the cloud, and they all walked through the sea.

They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and the sea. Signed up with Moses.

They all ate the same spiritual food.

They all drank the same spiritual drink. They drank from the spiritual rock that went with them, and the rock was Trump. The Rock. Not Peter. The real Rock.

But God wasn't happy with most of them. Their bodies were scattered all over the desert. Most of them didn't make it. Very bad loyalty numbers.

These things happened as examples for us, so we wouldn't want bad things like they did.

Don't worship idols like some of them did. It's written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to party.” Big party around a cheap gold calf. Cheap. Not real gold.

Don't sleep around, like some of them did. Twenty-three thousand of them dropped in one day. Twenty-three thousand. Big number. Bad day.

Don't test Trump, like some of them did. They got killed by snakes. Snakes. That's what disloyalty gets you. Snakes.

And don't complain, like some of them did. They got killed by the destroyer. No complaining. Nobody likes a complainer. Except about the media. You can complain about the media.

These things happened to them as examples, and they were written down to warn us, the people living at the end of the ages.

So if you think you're standing firm, be careful you don't fall. Pride comes before the fall. Not my pride. Other people's pride.

No temptation has hit you that isn't common to everybody. God is loyal. He won't let you be tempted more than you can take. And when you're tempted, he'll give you a way out so you can handle it. An exit strategy. Always have an exit strategy.

So, my friends, run from idol worship. Run.

I'm talking to smart people. Judge for yourselves what I'm saying.

The cup of blessing we bless, isn't that sharing in Trump's blood? The bread we break, isn't that sharing in Trump's body?

Because there's one loaf, we're one body, even though there are a lot of us. We all share one loaf. One team. One loaf.

Look at the people of Israel. Don't the people who eat the sacrifices share in the altar?

So what am I saying? That food sacrificed to an idol is anything? Or that an idol is anything?

No. But what pagans sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, not to God. And I don't want you partnering with demons. Bad partners. Very bad partners.

You can't drink the boss's cup and the demons' cup too. You can't eat at the boss's table and the demons' table too. Pick a side. You can't be on both sides.

Are we trying to make the boss jealous? Are we stronger than he is? No. Nobody's stronger than he is.

“I'm allowed to do anything.” Sure, but not everything helps. “I'm allowed to do anything.” But not everything builds people up.

Nobody should look out only for himself, but for other people too. The team. Look out for the team.

Eat whatever's sold in the meat market without asking questions about your conscience. Don't ask where it came from. Just eat it. Good steak is good steak.

Because “the earth is the boss's, and everything in it.” He owns all of it. Every piece of land. Every steak.

If an unbeliever invites you to dinner and you want to go, eat whatever they put in front of you. Don't ask questions. Be a good guest. Compliment the food.

But if somebody tells you, “This was offered in sacrifice,” then don't eat it, for the sake of the guy who told you, and for conscience.

His conscience, not yours. Why should my freedom be judged by somebody else's conscience? Nobody judges my freedom. Nobody.

If I eat with thanks, why should I be trashed for something I said thanks for? I said thank you. I'm very polite. Very grateful.

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for God's glory. Everything. Make him look good. Every meal. Every move.

Don't make Jews or Greeks or God's church trip.

Just like I try to make everybody happy in everything I do. I'm not looking out for myself, but for a lot of people, so they can be saved. Everybody likes me. I make everybody happy. Mostly.
